I asked myself, a while back, “What if David Lowe had a chance to arrange the Doctor Who theme?” David Lowe is, by the way, the guy who composed the iconic music, “countdown”, for BBC News, and has kept updating it ever since. It’s an amazing piece – pulsing, energizing, and engaging. It conveys a sense of strength and drama, but not overly so, and is a great piece for filling in the space between segments.
So, I wondered, could Doctor Who be remade to have a similar feel, and what would it sound like?
Opening up my music software, I set to working towards finding out – and this is what I came up with.
